The contest is open to all registered attendees of the EMBL Symposium Cellular Mechanisms Driven by Phase Separation who are affiliated with a research organisation.
Yes, participation is completely free of charge.
To participate, submit a brief description (up to 1500 characters) of your general research focus, a description of a project in which you could utilise a Labbot (up to 3000 characters), and an explanation of how a Labbot would provide an advantage in the intended project (up to 1500 characters).
Yes, multiple participants from the same research group are welcome to submit their contributions. The prize will be awarded to the research group affiliated with the writer of the winning proposal.
The contest is open until 17:00 on Thursday, May 16.
The submissions will be evaluated anonymously by a scientific committee. Each committee member will assess the proposals based on the level of innovation and scientific significance. The winner will be selected by consensus of the committee. The members of the committee will be announced at the end of the contest.
The prize includes one Labbot instrument, including an extended three-year warranty and two complementary annual services, three excitation filters of choice, one quartz cuvette with stirring bars, a flight case, on-site installation and onboarding.
The winner will be announced on the final day of the symposium, following the closing remarks on May 17th.
There are no limitations on the fields of research that submitted projects need to fall within. We welcome proposals from all areas where Labbot can be utilised.
No, the submitted projects will only be viewed by the contest committee. Please refer to our privacy terms for more information. The winning project will be briefly described during the announcement at the winners discretion.
